There will be an opportunity to help raise money towards Ysgolion Rhyd y Grug and Santes Tudful and The Welsh Centre when the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol visits Ebbw Vale in August. The Canolfan has won the contract to co-ordinate the festivals car parks and need volunteers to help steward. For every shift worked money will go towards one of the 3 groups. As part of the new Policy & Partnership team within the Chief Executive’s Unit, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, reviewing and monitoring the Welsh Language policy within Monmouthshire County Council, ensuring that it complies with the Welsh Language Scheme. This will include overseeing effective implementation of the Welsh Language Scheme and updating the scheme periodically as appropriate. You will also be required to develop a Welsh Language Skills Strategy for Monmouthshire County Council.
You will be responsible for managing the Welsh Translation Service and ensure that it is cost effective and high quality.
Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be fluent in the Welsh language both written and verbally. You will be able to demonstrate experience in working in partnership and across policy areas, and have a sound understanding of the requirements of the council’s Welsh Language Scheme
